The famous Mexican painter Jesus Enrique Emilio de la Helguera Espinoza who was born on 28th of May in 1910 in Chihuahua, Mexico and died in 5th of December in 1971 in Cordoba, Veracruz, Mexico.
Coming from a Mexican calendar this painting is about a family of three. The parents and the newborn baby. Along with two bulls or cows. From what it looks like they are at a cemetery, looking up at the sky. They look happy and proud to be where ever they are in life. This painting deceits happiness and proudness.
I love the colors and how it all shows my culture and ethnicity. It doesn't lack color or more details that it already has. In my family back in Mexico this is exactly how a nice middle class family would look like. And the thing about it that to me this painting represents my family and my rich and powerful Mexican roots that I love so much.
Although they look a bit tired I feel like they are happy that they made to their destiny or their destination. It could mean that they are not in a cemetery but instead moved to a different city and just now arriving. In search of a new life. Just like everyone else.
